to intensify as the need for health care grows!

America's hospitals and other institutions need more nurses!

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that jobs for nurses will
grow 23 percent in the future. That's faster than the average
for all other occupations!

NOW is the time to train as a Nurse!

 

LPN2009 Licensed Practical Nurse (Accelerated Day or Regular Evening Program Available)
Practical Nursing Graduates are in demand. Recent grads are reporting entry-levelearningsof over $40,000. LPN is a 10-month Fast Track Day or 20-month Evening program starting September and ending June. Receive clinical experience in hospitalsand skilled nursing facilities as well as classes in nursing theory, anatomy,medical/surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics and the administration of medication.Practical Nursing students qualify for the NY State Certified Nurse Assistantexamination. Students completing the SW BOCES program earn a Practical NursingLicense by passing the National Council Licensing Practical Nursing Exam.
High School Diploma or GED required. PLEASE NOTE: SW BOCES reserves the right to not accept certain non-State Education Department or distance learning diplomas. The following are required for acceptance into the Practical Nursing Program:

  • Submission of a complete application package.
  • Acceptable scores on the SW BOCES PN Entrance exam.
  • Successful completion of the interview process.

2008/2009 LPN Applications are now available at www.swbocesadulted.org. The Application deadline is May 9,2008 or when entrance exam sessions are filled. LPNPRE0101 LPN Preparation Course
Acceptance into the BOCES LPN program hinges on passing the C-NET EntranceExam. Boost your math, reading, writing and critical thinking skills with this prepcourse. Taking the LPN Preparation course does not guarantee admission into the LPNprogram. US High School Diploma or equivalent required. Tuition includes book and practice tests. LPN Application fee additional.

CNA0101 Certified Nurse Assistant
Nursing Homes and Long Term Skilled Nursing facilities are looking for you....... if youare a trained NY State Certified Nurse Assistant. This program includes both classroomtraining and clinical practice. Take advantage of evening classes at our Valhalla campus.Enrollment is limited. NY State Exam given at our campus. Uniform and NYS CNA testfee additional. The minimum reading level necessary to enroll in this course is 6.0.
